CSM++ is a finite element-based structural simulation software, created to work seamlessly with CFD++, CAA+ and MIME software, in multiphysics simulations involving fluids, acoustics, structural deformations and heat transfer.
CSM++ can be used to solve static or dynamic structural problems, including large strains and temperature-induced stresses. Segregated CSM++ and CFD++ input files can be easily configured for FSI using the MetaFSI interface, which facilitates communication between the two codes and also transforms the CFD mesh to keep up with structural deformations.
CSM++, CFD++ and MetaFSI provide a fluid-structural interaction capability that allows the use of different meshes suitable for each domain. MetaFSI ensures accurate transfer of CFD++ to CSM++ boundary payloads. The structural mesh does not need to be exactly co-located with the fluid mesh.
CSM++ introduces Metacomp’s vision for fluid-structural interaction capability with an unprecedented level of interaction across all component disciplines. In addition to importing MIME meshes, CSM++ can import just the mesh or complete finite element model of various commercial finite element codes.
